The court of Additional Sessions Judge Niharika Chauhan heard on Monday in the case of rape of a 16-year-old minor girl eight years ago in Sonbhadra. In this case, the court convicted Guddu Yadav and Rampreet Kharwar. The court sentenced Guddu Yadav to 10 years of imprisonment and a fine of Rs 40,000.

Failure to pay the fine will result in an additional imprisonment of 6 months. Convicted Rampreet Kharwar was sentenced to 7 years imprisonment and 10 thousand rupees fine. Failure to pay the fine will result in further imprisonment of 5 months. The entire amount of fine of Rs 50,000 will be given to the victim.

FIR was registered in 2014
According to the prosecution, a person resident of a village of Pipri police station area had given a complaint letter to Pipri police station on September 10, 2014. He had told that the 16-year-old minor daughter who was a student of class 10th, Guddu Yadav and Rampreet Kharwar was lured away on 4th September 2014 at 7 pm and she was also raped by Guddu.

Chargesheet filed in court on receipt of evidence
On September 10, 2014, the Pipri police started investigating the matter by registering an FIR under the POCSO Act and other sections including rape. During the investigation, the investigator had filed a charge sheet in the court after getting sufficient evidence. While hearing the case, the court convicted Rampreet Kharwar on Guddu Yadav after hearing the arguments of the advocates of both the sides, after perusing the statements of witnesses and records. Public prosecutors Dinesh Prasad Agrahari, Satya Prakash Tripathi and Neeraj Kumar Singh, argued on behalf of the prosecution.
