A tanker filled with palm oil overturned on the Dalpatpur-Hirapur highway near Shahgarh last night. The driver was killed in the accident, while the cleaner was seriously injured. Oil filled in the tanker also spread on the road. The accident was caused by a pit dug to test the quality of the road.
According to the information, the 18-wheeler tanker number GJ-12BT 8211 was going from Nagpur to Palm Oil on the highway last night. Here the road went uncontrolled at the bend in a bid to escape the pit. After this, the tanker collided with the tree and overturned. In the accident, the tanker driver Rajesh father Sialal, a resident of Azamgarh in UP, died, while the condition of the cleaner is critical. He was taken to the Community Health Center in Shahgarh, from where the district hospital was referred.
Body cut out of tanker body
Police reached the spot as soon as the accident was received. Principal constable Rajendra Pandey said that the front part of the tanker has been completely damaged after the accident. Due to this the body of the driver got trapped inside. With the help of JCB and cutter, the body of the driver and the injured cleaner were removed.
Two pits became the reason for the accident
The road from Dalpatpur to Hirapur has recently been constructed. The test team dug two pits about 5 feet wide on the road to test its quality. After this, the pits were not filled properly. Local youth Shailesh Kumar said that even before that due to these pits, many drivers have been victims of the accident.
