The rain that occurred in Amethi on Wednesday afternoon became fatal for two families. Two women died due to lightning during the rain. There is chaos among the family members after the death. The incident took place in Hatwapur Majra Kudwa village of Munshiganj police station area, Gudda Devi Bu.

During this time, lightning struck her. She got severely burnt due to the lightning. Hearing the cries of the people present nearby, the family rushed Gudda Devi to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Munshiganj. Where the doctors declared her dead.

The second incident is from Jais police station area. Mayawati (50) of Bahadurpur village of Pure Lodhan police station area had gone to plant paddy in a field located a little distance from her house on Wednesday. Meanwhile, she died due to electrocution. On receiving the news of Mayawati’s death, people rushed to the spot.

The deceased’s husband Ram Lallan said that paddy plantation is going on at this time. His wife was working in the field at around 4 pm on Wednesday evening. Then she died due to lightning during the rain. After Mayawati’s death, the family members are crying inconsolably. The policemen who arrived after getting information in both the incidents have sent the bodies for postmortem. The revenue personnel are preparing the report and trying to get the help prescribed by the government to the victim families.

Pradeep Kumar of the Disaster Department said that three people were reported dead due to lightning on Wednesday. Earlier, four people had died due to lightning in the district. After the information, revenue personnel went to the spot. After receiving the report from the revenue personnel, government assistance will be provided to the affected families.
