London: Shopkeeper Grabs Woman After She Hits Him With Basket Over Refund | WATCH – News18

A 45-year-old shopkeeper was seen grabbing a woman after she hit him with a shopping basket.

After the incident, the man has been interviewed by the Met Police and the woman was arrested on suspicion of assault but later released on bail, according to BBC. 

In a video, that has now gone viral and caused spark among people, the woman is seen hitting the man with a belt-like object.

In another video, the man holds the woman by her arms as she slams a plastic shopping cart on his head.

The shopkeepers said that the woman had become aggressive after they refused a refund on products that she had brought from the store.

“We do not give refunds, we exchange items or give a credit note. So she grabbed some stuff [three packs of hair with a total value of £24] from the shelf and tried to leave. She was leaving and I was stopping her,” he told the BBC.

He then said that the woman slapped him on the face and grabbed a shopping basket and hit him on the head.

“I don’t know when my hand goes around her neck. I was keeping her neutralised. I did not hit her,” he said.

“The video was cropped. People are acting at the half truth,” the man added.

Hundreds protest after incident

As the video went viral, hundreds of people took to streets for an organised protest. People were seen sitting on the road.

The shop was closed, and at least 15 police personnel were seen there, according to BBC.

People could be heard saying “you touch one, you touch all,” and “keep your hands off black women”.
