Manchester United took to their website to release an official statement regarding the situation between Jadon Sancho and manager Erik Ten Hag.
The Jadon Sancho-Erik Ten Hag saga seems to have reached a tipping point as Manchester United released an official statement stating that the English winger will be indulging in a ‘personal training programme’ away from the rest of the squad for time being.
It all began when Ten Hag took a swipe at Sancho, in the pre-match conference ahead of their PL clash against Arsenal, where the Dutchman claimed that Sancho was not fit enough to be included in the squad.
“Jadon, on his performances in training, we did not select him,” the Dutchman said after the game.
“You have to reach a level every day at Manchester United and we can make choices in the front line. So for this game he was not selected.”

But, Sancho was not ready to have any of that. The winger, who had publicly stated his struggles with mental well-being in the midst of his dip in form, clapped back at the manager on social media.
“Please don’t believe everything you read,” Sancho fired back against his coach. “I will not allow people to say things that are completely untrue. I have conducted myself in training very well this week.”
“I’ve been a scapegoat for a long time, which isn’t fair,” he added.
Following all that had transpired, it is believed that, according to a new report, Ten Hag went as far as setting a strict rule for Sancho to follow last season.
The Athletic claim that Ten Hag and his coaches attempted to get Sancho to arrive on time for training by setting his schedule at least one hour earlier than the rest of the first team squad.
It is claimed that, when the winger was at Borussia Dortmund, he occasionally missed team meetings, and then Dortmund boss Edin Terzic teamed him up with Erling Haaland due to Norwegian’s high levels of professionalism.
Despite it all, it is believed that Ten Hag still backs the Englishman, but for the time being, Manchester United took to their website to release an official statement regarding the situation.
“Jadon Sancho will remain on a personal training programme away from the first-team group, pending resolution of a squad discipline issue,” read the statement released by United.
What the future holds for Sancho and the Red Devils remains to be seen. But, for the moment being, it seems like the relationship between the two is hanging on by a thread.
