UGC G20 University Connect: PM Modi To Interact With VCs, Faculty, Students On September 26 – News18

At UGC’s G20 University Connect, PM Narendra Modi will engage with VCs, principals, faculty and students from colleges in Delhi NCR region at Bharat Mandapam
The University Grants Commission (UGC) will hold a G20 University Connect event in New Delhi on September 26, 2023. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will engage with Vice-Chancellors, principals, faculty members, and students from universities and colleges of the Delhi NCR region at Bharat Mandapam as part of the event. Although the programme is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m., students and faculty coordinators are requested to arrive by 2 p.m. Vice-chancellors, principals, faculty members, and students will be required to register beforehand, and entrance to the event will be granted only after registration.
The G20 members of the Indian team are said to be briefed on the outcomes of the G20 summit at the event.
“In view of the above, the Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) of the National Capital Region (NCR) are requested to participate in the event by nominating 30-40 students and two faculty members to attend the programme. The Head of the Institution is also invited to join the event,” reads the official notice.
Further in the notification, the commission informed that a faculty coordinator will be assigned to ensure effective coordination during the event. Those who have been nominated for coordinating duties must send their details such as their email address and phone number to dgoffice@ris.org.in.
Meanwhile, faculty coordinators and students are advised to register themselves at the following link live at the RIS Website – viablesoft.org.in/risinvitationexp23VD/onlineregistration.aspx.
It is important to note that both students and faculty coordinators arrive at the venue by 2 pm to ensure a smooth entry process and security clearance. In addition, please keep in mind that without previous registration, no student or faculty coordinators will be permitted to attend the event.
The G20 Secretariat supports the University Connect programme, which is coordinated by the Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS) in New Delhi.
On September 22, Prime Minister Narendra Modi attributed the success of the G20 summit in New Delhi to the efforts of everyone involved in the event. During a discussion with summit officials at Bharat Mandapam, he appreciated their efforts. He asked the officials and the rest of the employees to document their experiences.
Around 3,000 persons who helped make the G20 Summit a success attended the event at Bharat Mandapam. This includes cleaners, drivers, waiters, and other personnel from other ministries. Furthermore, ministers and top officials from several departments also attended the discussion. In addition, dinner was served following the Prime Minister’s interaction.
