Nita Ambani is making affordable world-class medical care available to all Indians through Sir H N Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre in Mumbai
Reliance Foundation chairperson Nita Ambani received the prestigious ‘Citizen of Mumbai’ Award 2023-24 from the Rotary Club of Bombay.
The award recognizes her enduring contributions to create transformative institutions in healthcare, education, sports, arts, and culture.
Ambani is the owner of Mumbai Indians, one of the most successful cricket teams in the Indian Premier League. She is also the founder chairperson of Football Sports Development Limited, which launched the Indian Super League, and the head of the Education and Sports for All initiative for children. She is also the owner of MI New York which won the inaugural edition of Major League Cricket (MLC), a professional American T20 league.
She is the first Indian woman to be elected as a member of the International Olympic Committee, and the first Indian to be elected an Honorary Trustee of the Board of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, according to Reliance Foundation’s website.

Last month, she said that the Reliance Foundation has so far touched the lives of 70 million Indians across the smallest towns and remotest villages of the country.
