Dharmendra had torn the call sheet in the first meeting: Anil Sharma said – only Dharmendra, Dev and Dilip Sahab could visit RK office

Anil Sharma has worked in many films with Sunny Deol’s father Dharmendra. In a recent interview, he mentioned his first meeting with the actor. Anil told that at that time he was working as an assistant in the film ‘The Burning Train’. Then Dharmendra came on the set and everything stopped.

Even family members were not allowed to go
In an interview given to Bollywood Thikana, Anil told that he had the opportunity to go to Raj Kapoor’s office located in RK Studio where even Raj Kapoor’s family members were not allowed to go. Only selected superstars could come to that office and Dharmendra’s name was included in this list.

Only Dharmendra, Dev Anand and Dilip Sahab could visit.
Anil said, ‘It was my good fortune that I got a chance to visit that office. Only Dev Anand, Dilip Kumar and Dharmendra were allowed to visit this office located in Raj Kapoor’s studio. Apart from these three superstars, no one else could visit the studio office. I was even told that even his brothers Shammi and Shashi were not allowed inside.

The superstar had reached the set with Hema Malini
Anil further said, ‘One day when we were shooting for Ravi Chopra’s film ‘The Burning Train’ in RK Studio, we came to know that Dharmendra had come to the studio. Work on the entire set came to a halt and everyone ran to get a glimpse of him. He had arrived in a van with Hema Malini.

I stopped the car to give the call sheet
While sharing the story of his first meeting with Dharmendra, Anil said, ‘At that time the concept of call sheet was new in the industry. Dharmendra left the set after talking to the director for an hour. Before he left I had to give him the call sheet for the next day.

Dharmendra tore that call Sheet
I ran after his van and stopped the car. Dharmendra asked me smilingly – What happened? I was so overwhelmed after seeing him that without saying anything I handed over the call sheet to him.

Dharmendra saw that sheet and tore it and said that he had already talked to the director about this. While leaving, he also asked me whether I was new?

Sunny was given the biggest film of her career
Later, Anil worked with Dharmendra in films like ‘Hukumat’, ‘Elaan-e-Jung’, ‘Farishte’ and ‘Tehelka’. Not only Dharmendra but Anil also worked with his sons Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol in ‘Apne’, ‘Gadar’ and ‘Gadar-2’.

Recently he has given Sunny the biggest hit of his career. The film has so far earned Rs 525 crore at the Indian box office.
