On Day 7, the Indian men’s squash team defeated Pakistan 3-2, courtesy of a heroic comeback from Abhay Singh who beat Noor Zaman, after Saurav Ghosal got India back in the contest as they trailed following Mahesh Mangaonkar’s defeat.

In Hockey, the Indian men’s team thrashed Pakistan 10-2, Indian captain Harmanpreet Singh scored four, while Varun Kumar added a brace, along with four other players, it was the biggest-ever win by the Indian team over Pakistan.

Rohan Bopanna is still winning medals, the 42-year-old won a gold along with Rutuja Bhosale in the Tennis mixed doubles final, registering a comeback win. It was double joy for India in Athletics, Kartik Kumar won the silver medal in men’s 10,000m final, finishing just ahead of his compatriot Gulveer Singh who finished third.

The Indian shooting contingent continued their impressive showing in Hangzhou, winning a 19th medal as birthday boy Sarabjot Singh teamed up with Divya TS to clinch the silver medal in the 10m air pistol mixed team event.

Coming to Sunday’s action, Nikhat Zareen will be in action as she will be hoping to find a place in the final of her boxing event having already sealed her place at next year’s Paris Olympics.

The Indian men’s Badminton team will face a historic showdown against China for the gold medal, whereas the Indian chess team comprising the likes of Vidit Gujarathi, Gukesh D., Arjun Erigais, R. Praggnanandhaa will also be in action.
