Losing a whopping amount of money can cause anxiety for many, but when it is $10,000 (Rs 8 Lakh) worth of currency, one can imagine the pain. The same happened to a man who lost all hope when he realised that he had lost his wallet containing $10,000 worth of US and European currencies. He believed that he would never get the money back. However, thanks to the diligent efforts of the railway station authority, the wallet was located and returned to its rightful owner within hours. The incident occurred when Itzik Shitrit was travelling from Ben-Gurion International Airport to Tel Aviv’s Savidor Central Station in Israel.

As soon as Shitrit noticed the loss of a significant amount of money, he promptly sought assistance from Manny Netani, the station manager. Without much ado, Netani notified the Ben-Gurion Airport station staff, setting off a concerted effort to locate the missing wallet. As per the Israel Hayom, several airport employees also stepped in to assist with the search, and after twelve hours, Alina Miniev, an Israel Railways service agent, found the wallet while assisting a passenger with a disability. Proving to be a Good Samaritan, she handed Itzik Shitrit the wallet right away.

“More than I was excited to hear that the money was found. I was excited to see the commitment and mobilization of the railway employees to recover the loss,” Itzik Shitrit said to Jewish Press, as Director of Israel Railway’s lost and found department returned the wallet.

Similarly, a retired Army officer returned a lost wallet containing over Rs 30,000 cash and other valuable documents to its rightful owner.
