Movie Review: The story of Jaswant Gill saving the lives of 65 labourers, Akshay lived his character; Despite some shortcomings, the story of Mission Raniganj is interesting

The story of the film Mission Raniganj is based on the country’s famous mining engineer Jaswant Singh Gill. Jaswant Singh Gill had saved the lives of 65 laborers working in the coal mine.

The story of one man’s wisdom and indomitable courage is shown in the film. It was in 1989 that Jaswant Singh Gill and his team conducted a rescue mission to rescue 65 laborers from a coal mine in Raniganj.

The workers give up hope of survival, in such a situation Jaswant Singh Gill comes as a messiah for them. Jaswant Singh Gill sets out to save the workers with determination and ultimately succeeds.

How is the acting of the star cast?
After giving many flops, Akshay Kumar has completely handled this film on his shoulders. He has played the character of Jaswant Singh Gill very effortlessly. Parineeti Chopra also has a small role in the film. He has done a decent job in a small role.

Among the supporting actors, Ravi Kishan, Pawan Malhotra, Varun Badola and Jamil Khan have done justice to their respective roles.

This is Parineeti’s first film after marriage.

How is the direction of the film?
The film has been directed by Tinu Suresh Desai. Tinu has kept the story interesting till the end. The speed of the film is also fine. Background music has been used appropriately. Asim Mishra’s cinematography is amazing, he has shown the coal mine sequence very well on screen.

He has presented the intricacies and technicalities of the rescue mission very well. There are some shortcomings in the screenplay. However, the film becomes interesting because of editing. Better work could have been done from actors like Kumud Mishra. He is seen in the same expression throughout the film.

How is the music of the film?
The music of the film is melodious, feels good to listen to. Especially ‘Jalsa’ in the voice of Satinder Sartaj and Vishal Mishra’s track ‘Keemati’ will force you to hum its lyrics.

There are many unsung heroes around us, about whom we have never heard. This film is the story of one such brave hero. This film full of hope and inspiration must be watched once. If you are a fan of Akshay Kumar then this film is for you.
