In another case of medical apathy, a video has gone viral on social media from Chhattisgarh where a young child was seen standing next to a patient holding a saline bottle in his handle after being allegedly asked by authorities due to a lack of a stand to hang the bottle on it. The incident was reported at the Abhanpur Community Health Centre, 25 km away from the state’s capital city Raipur.
The purported video caught the attention of the netizens, many of whom questioned the deplorable state of affairs of medical facilities in the state.

Sharing the video on X (formally Twitter), Dr Aseervatham Achary, coordinator of the BJP’s Documentation and Library Department, targeted Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and called his Chhattisgarh government “ineffective”.

As per a NDTV report, the condition of the hospital was worrisome as it doesn’t even have a pillow or bedsheet for patients in the ward. The hospital also lacked the basic hygiene and the medicine distribution center was not functional.
This comes at a time when the Congress-led government in Chhattisgarh is facing flak from the BJP over an online betting app scam worth Rs 6,000 crore and a liquor sale scam allegedly worth Rs 2,161 crore.
