Om pounced towards someone standing behind me
The actor wrote, ‘I ignored her, but her eyes were fixed on me. He was sitting at the table behind me. After some time, I felt a sharp object entering my back. When I tried to get up, Om screamed loudly and jumped towards someone standing behind me.
I turned and saw that Jaspal had a small knife in his hand, blood was dripping from its tip. He was trying to attack me again. Along with Om, two other people were holding him to control him.
Police had reached the spot
Naseeruddin further said, ‘After this incident, Om wanted to take me to the doctor, but the people present in the restaurant did not let us go anywhere until the police arrived.
After some time the ambulance came and along with it the police also came. Om requested the police and sat with me in the ambulance and asked the police to be gentle with me. None of us had any idea where we were going. However, all I was thinking was that we should not be taken to the police station.
Naseer and Om had studied together in NSD and FTII.
When I was alone, Jaspal came to meet me again.
Naseer further mentioned, ‘I was bleeding profusely from my injury. Even the policemen were not able to understand the situation. I was first taken to Cooper Hospital in Juhu and then to Jaslok Hospital. Later it was learned that the police had caught Jaspal, but he was released on bail.
