Veteran actress Asha Parekh recently spoke about the producer of the film Kashmir Files. Taking aim at the producer, he has asked whether he has done anything for the welfare of Kashmiri people with the profit of the film?
Asha Parekh further said that she has not seen the films The Kashmir Files and The Kerala Story but if people have seen it then it is also fine.
The producer could have donated Rs 50 crore for the welfare of the people of Kashmir.
In an interview given to News 18, Asha Parekh said- I have not seen these films. Therefore, I would not like to speak on the controversies related to it.
Then Asha Parekh targeted the producer of Kashmir Files and asked – How much money has he given from the profit of the film for the welfare of Hindus living in Jammu and Kashmir? How much money has the producer given to those who do not have money for water or electricity?
He further said- After paying everyone’s share, there will be a share of profit left for the producer. Suppose the film earned Rs 400 crore. After giving shares to everyone, he will be left with Rs 200 crore. In this sense, he could have donated Rs 50 crore for the welfare of the people of Kashmir.
The film The Kashmir Files has been produced by Vivek Agnihotri. Released on March 11, 2022, this film had a worldwide collection of Rs 340.92 crore.
How has been Asha Parekh’s film journey?
Asha was born on 2 October 1942 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Born in a Gujarati family, Asha is currently running the dance academy ‘Kara Bhawan’. Apart from this, his hospital ‘BCJ Hospital and Asha Parekh Research Centre’ is also running in Santa Cruz, Mumbai.
Started acting at the age of 10
Asha started her acting career at the age of just 10. He worked as a child artist for the first time in the film ‘Aasmaan’ released in 1952. After this, he worked in Bimal Roy’s film ‘Baap Beti’ (1954), but its failure disappointed him so much that he decided not to work in films.
Asha Parekh is the 7th woman to be honored with Dadasaheb Phalke.
Decision to return to Bollywood at the age of 16
Asha decided to return to films at the age of 16. She wanted to work in Vijay Bhatt’s film ‘Goonj Uthi Shehnai’ (1959), but the director did not give her a chance saying that she was not star material. However, the very next day, producer Subodh Mukherjee and director Nasir Hussain signed him in their film ‘Dil Deke Dekho’ (1959). Shammi Kapoor was in her opposite role in this film. The film proved to be a superhit and Asha became a Bollywood superstar overnight.
Life Time Achievement and Padmashree Award
Asha Parekh has worked in about 95 Bollywood films. She was last seen in the 1999 film ‘Sar Aankhon Par’. Asha has been honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award 11 times. In 1992, he was honored with the country’s prestigious honor Padmashree by the Government of India.
