Controversy has also arisen over the famous TV serial Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. In one scene of the drama, a scene of a tire being put around the neck of a Sikh youth is shown. On which Sikh organizations have lodged a strong objection. Sikh organizations say that an attempt has been made to remind Sikhs of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots by filming the scene of a tire being put around the neck of a Sikh person in the drama.

Sikh organizations have alleged that all this was deliberate.
