Flamboyant all-rounder Hardik Pandya redeemed himself after getting hit for a boundary and took a wicket on the next ball to send Imam-ul-Haq back to the pavilion. Hardik, the vice-captain of the Indian team, was not happy after Imam hit him for a four as he gave himself a pep-talk and the next delivery got the better of him. It was outside off stump and Imam edged it behind the stumps to wicketkeeper KL Rahul as Pandya also gave him a send-off.

It was another flop show for Imam in this World Cup as he failed to cross the 50-run mark.

Earlier, Mohammed Siraj and Rohit Sharma plotted Abdullah Shafique’s wicket. It was the last ball of eight over when Siraj trapped Pakistan opener Abdullah Shafique in front of the wicket. Meanwhile, skipper Rohit Sharma also contributed to the wicket as it was he who had a chat with Siraj before the delivery. The pacer went for a cross-seam delivery and the ball kept a bit low and hit the pads. It was an absolute plumb in front of the wicket as Rohit and Siraj celebrated the wicket by pointing at each other.

Meanwhile, India made one change to their playing XI of Shubman Gill made a comeback to the side after recovering from dengue in place of Ishan Kishan.

Pakistan skipper Babar Azam said his team is unchanged. “We were looking to field as well. We have had good two wins. Momentum is very high and we want to continue that. Jampacked stadium, we are enjoying our opportunity, and just want to enjoy. We have to be good in the field. We have had good practice sessions.”
