Virat Kohli made a kind gesture towards Pakistan skipper Babar Azam after India’s thumping 7-wicket win in the ICC ODI World Cup match at Narendra Modi Stadium. The batting maestro gifted his Team India jersey to Babar and also had a brief chat with him after the match.

It was a rare one-sided affair between India and Pakistan at the World Cup as the Men in Blue extended their winning streak to 8-0. The Indian bowlers produced a collective effort to bundle out Pakistan for just 191 as they failed to match the intensity at a jam-packed stadium with around 1,00,000 capacity.

In chasing 192, India skipper Rohit Sharma smashed six fours and as many sixes en route to top-score with a scintillating 86 off 63 balls. Shreyas Iyer did well to make 53 not out off 62 balls, giving India its eighth straight victory over Pakistan in Men’s ODI World Cups. The comprehensive win has also meant India has climbed to the top of the points table.

After the match, Babar asked for a jersey from Kohli as the video of the Indian maestro’s kind gesture went viral on social media.

Meanwhile, Babar scored his first century against India in ODIs on Saturday, on the other hand, Kohli had an off day as he hit 16.

Babar talked about the defeat and said they looked for 280-290 but the middle-order collapsed didn’t work in their favour.

We started well. Good partnership between me and Imam. We wanted to play normal cricket (me and Rizwan). Suddenly we had a collapse and didn’t finish well. The way we started, wanted to target 280-290. With the new ball we are not upto the mark. The way Rohit is playing – he played an outstanding innings.
