Hariharan’s son Karan used to hide his identity in childhood: wanted to make a name for himself; Couldn’t believe it when Amitabh Bachchan shared the trailer

Karan Hariharan and Paani Kashyap starrer film ‘Pyaar Hai To Hai’ was released on 13 October. Both of them had a special conversation with Dainik Bhaskar on things related to their film. Apart from this, many questions related to his father were asked to Karan Hariharan.

First people call you Hariharan’s son and later by your name. Do you take this as happiness, irritation or pride?
Karan’s answer– I take such things with a laugh. I am his son, he is not saying anything wrong. See, until I create my own identity, people introduce me like this. Yes, I was 16-17 years old, I was not that mature then, so I used to get angry. At that time it seemed that I had no name and identity.

Now it seems that when there is no reason to know me, you will keep calling me like this. In such a situation, how can I get angry at the other person? One should take this matter with a laugh and not get angry over it. Initially Karan S. I used to write so that people do not know that I am Hariharan’s son.

People’s behavior changes after knowing that I am Hariharan’s son. I didn’t like it, so sometimes I would hide my name.

Father has such a big name in the industry. Do you ever feel the pressure of this?
answer- His legacy is so big that I have to match it or surpass it. That’s pressure. There is pressure for the quality of work that Papa has done. I feel pressure that my work should be good but I don’t take any pressure. I also want a career like his so that one day I can look back and say that Papa, you have taught me the right lesson.

How did you get the role for the film?
Karan: I am lucky that I auditioned for this film. After passing the audition, I met the director-producer. He told about the story of the film and my character. In this way I got a chance to debut in Bollywood.

Pani: When I met the director, my leg was broken. My photo was gone, we had talked, the audition was about to happen. That meeting was very important before deciding whether I could be auditioned or not.

I came on a walker to meet the director. The director immediately said that I think she is my Nimmo, we can audition her. I auditioned and became Nimmo.

The trailer of your film was launched by Amitabh Bachchan on social media. What will you say?
Karan: My hands and legs start trembling every time I tell this. Look, my hands started trembling while telling you. They are everything to us. We didn’t even know. We suddenly found out. This was a surprise for us.

It seemed like a joke to me. But our producer called and gave me this news. After watching the trailer on their social media site, I remained seated in my seat for a minute or two.

Paani- Amitabh Bachchan is an institution in itself. There is a lesson by watching them. It happened in our film that the line started from where we stood, because we got his blessings at the very beginning.

She screamed with joy after receiving this news for the first time. It was the time of Ganesh Chaturthi. I was doing household work. I got a call from the producer. Initially I was surprised after listening to him, I could not understand.

Father Hariharan has a good name in the music world. Then why not singing, how did you choose acting line?
answer- I sing, play piano and guitar. In this way, whenever I sing a song, I am acting in it. I have been in love with acting since the beginning. Had a desire to do acting since childhood. My heart was in acting, so I had to become an actor. I also sing songs. I also used to do shows with my father, but separate time should be given for professionalism.

In my childhood I used to go to the sets with my father. From that very moment I fell in love with acting. Since then I have not been able to give up my love for acting. Did theater in school. After completing his studies, he went to America and learned acting there for three years. After coming back, he took a different training in Bollywood and joined the acting line. Came into this line by learning dance, fiction, acting, accent etc.
