Virat Kohli lead from the front as he scored his 48th ODI Century and his first ton since 2015 World Cup help India remain undefeated in the tournament.
The match between India vs Bangladesh came to a thrilling end as the last few deliveries got fans tense as many were concerned with whether Virat Kohli would finish off the innings with a ton. But in the end, Kohli managed to bring up his 48th International Century and his third World Cup ton as well. His last ton came in the 2015 World Cup. Netizens reacted to the dramatic end to the game.
In one instance before Kohli raised the century, the Bangladeshi bowler, Nasum Ahmed had bowled one towards the leg-side and many thought that it was going to be called a wide but he did not do so which gave Kohli the opportunity to go for the maximum.
KL Rahul also managed to make a fair contribution in the game as he stood with Kohli and took the game to the end. It looked like Rahul might go for a half-century but he took the back seat in the latter stage of the innings for Kohli to get the ton.
@imVkohli A fantastic Knock to bring up the 48th. Never Saw him prioritising a 100 before.Signs of impending end at the top.(He senses that he has limited time )if India wins it all, we may see master going off on the top from the format he so cherishes.#CWC23 #ViratKohli— Vikash Upadhyay (@vikashupadhyayy) October 19, 2023
Could this be a forecast for the future? This particular fan believes that if India is able to go all the way in the tournament we may see Kohli stepping away from the format he has excelled in the format he has made his name in.
Certain section of the cricketing fanbase was seen calling Kohli selfish for denying singles in order to get the ton against Bangladesh.
Many Indian fans can agree with the umpire’s decision to not give the second last delivery for a wide as a move which made a lot of Indian fans happy.

Most people would agree that the last two overs of the game was arguably the most entertaining bit of the entire game. Thrilling to say the least.
India now sits at the second in the league table being the joint leader with New Zealand with 4 wins out of 4 and becoming the only two sides that remain undefeated. New Zealand currently stands at the top with a superior net run rate.
