Baahubali Prabhas has turned 44 today. Whenever any film of Prabhas, who brought the trend of Pan India films in India, is released, many cities in the South are celebrated. However, there was a time when Prabhas did not want to become a hero. When Prabhas came into films on his uncle’s insistence, his initial journey was not easy.

Prabhas was born on 23 October 1979 in Madras, Tamil Nadu. His full name is Uppalapati Venkata Suryanarayana Prabhas Raju, who is the son of South’s popular producer Uppalapati Surya Narayana. Prabhas is the youngest among three siblings.

Prabhas received his early education from D.N.R School, Bhimavaram. Prabhas took admission in Satyanand Film Institute, Visakhapatnam after completing his studies from Nalanda College, Hyderabad.
Despite being from a film family, Prabhas never wanted to become a hero. He wanted to do hotel business, because he himself was fond of food and drink.
How did Prabhas enter films?
Prabhas’s family wanted him to enter films. One day his uncle offered him a film. He wanted Prabhas to become the hero of the film because the character of the hero in that film was quite similar to the real character of Prabhas. Prabhas kept refusing for a long time, but for the sake of his family, he finally signed the film.
That film was released in the year 2002. The name of the film was Ishwar. However, Prabhas did not get any special recognition from this film. After this, he appeared in the 2004 film Varsham, which gained him recognition in the South Industry.

Got stardom from SS Rajamouli’s film
In the year 2005, Prabhas was seen in SS Rajamouli’s film Chhatrapati. With this film, Prabhas’ unique style and charm started being liked by the audience, due to which he achieved stardom. Prabhas further worked in many hit films like Darling, Mr. Perfect and Rebel.

Bollywood film was done before becoming a Pan India star, did not get special recognition
Before gaining nationwide popularity with the film Baahubali in 2015, Prabhas was seen in the film Action Jackson, released in 2014. He was seen in the song Punjabi Mast of the film, although he did not get any recognition in the country from his first Bollywood film.

How did Prabhas become Baahubali?
Preparations for the film Bahubali, released in 2015, had started in 2011. First of all, the role of Amarendra Baahubali in the film was offered to Hrithik Roshan, however he refused to do this film. After Hrithik’s refusal, the film was given to Prabhas. She signed the film and worked on her body transformation for several months. He had gained weight of 105 kg for the role of the powerful Amarendra Baahubali. This was the 18th film of his career.

To work in this film, Prabhas did not sign any other film for 5 years. This was also the period when he got offers from many big films, but he rejected all the offers. After its release, this film proved to be the biggest hit of his career, but while working in this film, Prabhas also had to face financial crisis because at that time he had no other source of income apart from this film.
In 2015, the film was released on 4 thousand screens across the country in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, and Malayalam languages.
The film Baahubali was the highest grossing film of Telugu and South cinema. It was also India’s highest grossing Hindi dubbed film. Both these records have been broken by its sequel film Baahubali: The Conclusion. Prabhas’s film Baahubali is the first film in India which earned thousand crore rupees in just 10 days.

6000 marriage proposals were received after the film became a hit.
After becoming a pan India star with the film Baahubali, Prabhas’ fan following had increased manifold. After this film, 6 thousand girls proposed him for marriage. However, it is said that Prabhas’s family has already finalized their relationship.

Apart from his excellent films, Prabhas is also known for social work. Once Prabhas was shooting for one of his films. At the same time he came to know that one of his 20 year old fans was fighting a battle with cancer. As soon as the news was received, Prabhas took a break from shooting and reached the hospital to meet the fan. Prabhas spent a lot of time with her. Sadly, the boy died after a few days.

Prabhas has adopted 1650 acres of forest
In the year 2020, Prabhas adopted Kazipalli Forest Reserve located near Hyderabad. After donating Rs 2 crore, Prabhas now takes all the responsibilities of that forest. That forest is spread over 1650 acres. Prabhas has adopted this forest in his father’s name.

Name of Prabhas’s film registered in world record
Before the release of the film Bahubali, Kochi’s United Media Company had made a 50 thousand square feet poster of Prabhas. Due to this poster, the name of the film and Prabhas has been registered in the Guinness Book of World Records.

The first actor from South whose wax statue was made in Madame Tussauds
After the success of Baahubali in 2017, a wax statue of Prabhas was made in Madame Tussauds, Bangkok. Prabhas is the first South Star whose wax statue has been kept in Madame Tussauds Museum. Apart from this, wax statues of actresses Kajal Aggarwal and Mahesh Babu are also kept in Madame Tussauds Museum.

Prabhas’s upcoming projects
Prabhas will soon be seen in the film Salaar being directed by Prashant Neel. After this he will be seen in Nag Ashwin’s mythological film Kalki 2898 AD. Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Disha Patani will also be seen with him in this film.
Apart from these two big films, he is working in Raju Deluxe, which is a horror comedy. His 25th film will be Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit. There are reports that Prabhas will also be cast in an untitled film of Siddharth Anand.
The film Salaar is scheduled to release on December 22.

Before the release of Radhe-Shyam, fans made huge cutouts: Even before the release of the film, Prabhas’ fans had put up huge cutouts of him outside theaters in Hyderabad. Fan tried to commit suicide after not getting updates of Radhe-Shyam: Prabhas and Pooja Hegde starrer film Radhe Shyam was scheduled to be released in the year 2020, however it was postponed due to Covid.
When no updates were received regarding the release of the film for several months, a fan got fed up and tried to commit suicide. That fan had also written a suicide note in which he had told the makers and the star cast as the reason for the suicide. Luckily this crazy fan was saved just in time.
Fan tried to jump from mobile tower to meet Prabhas: At the time of the release of the film Saaho, a fan of Prabhas had threatened to jump from a tall tower. The fan said that if Prabhas does not meet him, he will sacrifice his life.
Fans started dancing in the theater after seeing the teaser of the film:When the teaser of Saaho was shown to the fans who came to the theater to watch another film, the fans went crazy with joy. Dozens of people left their chairs and started dancing explosively in front of the screen. Many were so happy that they even took off their shirts while dancing. Saaho’s lead actress Shraddha Kapoor herself expressed surprise by sharing the video of this scene.
For Saaho, many fans had filled an entire city with posters of Prabhas. Not only this, fans had also made a 200 feet high cutout of Prabhas in Prabhas’ hometown Bhamarao, Andhra Pradesh.
The craze of Baahubali was such that many fans had got Prabhas’s face tattooed on their bodies. A Russian fan had got a huge tattoo of Amarendra Baahubali inked on his back.
