In an absurd incident at the UFC 294, a fan thought it was a good idea to take a swing at UFC star Paulo Costa, who was in attendance in Abu Dhabi.
One of the strangest and most outrageous sights in the world of professional sport transpired at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi as a fan thought it was a good idea to take a swing at UFC star Paulo Costa at the UFC 294 on Sunday.
The fan launched himself at the Brazilian fighter as he jumped over the barricade beyond the security personnel deployed.

Costa, who was scheduled to fight at the event, pulled out citing a elbow injury and was seen with protective equipment around the same area as the fan tried to assault the fighter.
The Brazilian took to social media to give a humorous take on the events as he posted an update that read, “I told you guys I could fight tonight ”

He also issued a warning against the fan who tired to attack him with a video clip of the incident captioned, “Don’t mess with me lil chenchen I send you back home with smack straight in ur big forehead my right arm is working already”

Following Costa’s withdrawal from the event, Kamaru Usman faced off against Khamzat Chimaev in the main event of the night.

Dana White, the CEO of UFC expressed his shock stating that it was the first time he had seen a fan go after a professional fighter, emphasising the absurdity of the incident.
