Now a wholesome dance clip of an LA-based entertainer dancing to a Tamil dance number proves this. Earlier this month, Sean Tenedini from USA, who has over three lakh Instagram followers, shared a clip in which he dances to Rowdy Baby, a 2018 song from the action comedy film Maari 2. Sung by Dhanush and Dhee, it became one of the most-viewed Indian songs of all time in January 2019.

Tenedini dances enthusiastically and even changes costumes that match actor Dhanush’s attire from the song. This clip has gathered over two lakh likes since it was posted on October 21. While sharing the clip, Tenedini wrote, “Idk what happened again”. Commenting on it, an Instagram user wrote, “Okay!! I’m Tamil! And bruh! I didn’t know I needed this boost of serotonin”. Another stated, “Someone get this man an Aadhar card!! ASAP. he one of the boys now. An Instagram user wrote that Tenedini “Lived the spirit of the song!”.

It is interesting to note that Tenedini often posts short-form content of himself engaging with south Indian music. On his YouTube account, he has made videos related to actor Vijay Deverakonda and Mahesh Babu.

This is not the first time a video of a foreign national fully immersed in Indian songs went viral. In 2022, the globally renowned Norwegian dance group, Quick Style, went viral for their dance medley on Bollywood songs. Their dance video, taken during a wedding function of one of their members, gathered over 124 million views as of October 2023. Since then they have collaborated with a number of Indian celebrities. This year, the crew also went on a four-city India tour thanks to their love for Indian dance and music.

In February 2023, an adorable video of a Chinese dancing to the popular song ‘Aankhein khuli ho ya ho band’ from the 2000 film ‘Mohabbatein’ raked in likes. The young boy who goes by his Instagram user name lucky_hang_hang has 1.3 million followers. He often posts dance videos on Bollywood songs.
