Indian fans demanded ‘teen guna lagaan’, DJ in Lucknow played ‘Chale Chalo’ song from the Bollywood classic during the India vs England ODI World Cup clash.
Ekana Stadium was the place to be on Sunday as India faced off against Lucknow in the ODI World Cup 2023 contest. Not only did the BCCI organise a wonderful light show which enthralled fans at the venue during the mid-innings break, but the DJ at the venue started playing the iconic ‘chale chalo’ song from the movie Lagaan as England found themselves in all kinds of trouble, chasing India’s target of 230 runs.
For the unversed, the Bollywood epic Lagaan featured the connection of India and England, dating back to the pre-independence era. In the end, the Indians had prevailed in the movie, and fans on social media demanded ‘teen guna lagaan’ as Rohit Sharma-led Men in Blue locked horns with the defending champions.
Jos Buttler and Co. found themselves reeling at 81/6 when Moeen Ali was dismissed and the DJ at the venue decided to play the iconic song ‘Chale Chalo’ from the movie Lagaan which aptly reflected on the situation of the contest and it also pleased the crowd.

Earlier, Jasprit Bumrah picked up two wickets to leave Buttler and Co. stunned as Dawid Malan and Joe Root departed on back-to-back deliveries. Shami then joined the party by getting rid of Stokes, and Jonny Bairstow.
