The world is replete with a lot of natural wonders that leave humans in awe of the spectacular beauty of the earth. One such natural wonder is the road leading to Pandawa Beach at Badung in South Kuta, Bali. An interesting feature of this road is that it is carved through a cliff and has 40-meter-high limestone walls on both sides. The road is 300 meters long and as per reports, took two years to be built.
A video creator, going by the name of Something Incredible Took Place, has shared a clip of this road. This creator has covered a glimpse of this road with the help of a drone shot. The video shows the tourists getting their pictures clicked on the road amidst the serene background of Bali. The caption of the clip reads,” Pandawa beach viewpoint- Bali.” More than 9.2 Million users have watched this clip.
Social media users loved the clip, called the road incredible, and also expressed their love for Indonesia. Others, however, came up with some criticism and wrote,” Isn’t it a bit too close at the airport to fly a drone there? Still a good shot but because of this there will be more and more regulations.” Something Incredible Took Place, the creator who shot the video, replied that he had just seen that there was a heliport (airport or landing place for helicopters) in this area. The creator also replied that he is not sure that the rules are the same as an airport but thanked the user for raising this issue.
This road has become one of the tourist creations in Bali but has also become a topic of heated debate. According to a report published in odditycentral.com, work on the Pandawa Beach Road started in 2011. At that time, the bulldozers and excavators started chipping away at the limestone landscape. Funded by both the Indonesian Government and private investors, it proved an instant hit with both tourists and locals. Users claimed that it may have been developed haphazardly because it completely prevents animals from travelling across the limestone plateau. Those defending the project claim that there are not many animals in this area anymore, so the road doesn’t pose problems to anyone.
