Director Anubhav Sinha is very regretful about one thing. Anubhav said that he should have made Shahrukh Khan’s film Ra.One in a better way. According to experience, he had a good chance. He could have made a better film with Shahrukh Khan, however it could not happen.
Anubhav said- could not capitalize on the opportunity
Anubhav Sinha while talking to Connect FM Canada said- I feel that I failed in making a good film with Shahrukh Khan. The opportunity was quite good, although I could not capitalize on it. I should have made a good film at any cost.
Gave the biggest flop of his career, still got a film like Ra.One
Anubhav Sinha said that before making Ra.One, he had given the biggest flop (cash) of his career. Despite this, he got a chance to make a big film with Shahrukh Khan.
Anubhav further said- You don’t think about such films in advance. Such big films are made suddenly. I got to direct Ra.One after I had given the biggest flop of my career.
Anubhav was saddened by one thing of Shahrukh
Anubhav Sinha had expressed his sorrow regarding Shahrukh and Ra.One in an old interview with Connect FM Canada. Anubhav said that it did not matter to him when people called Ra.One a flop, but he felt very sad when Shahrukh himself declared the film a flop.
Anubhav said, ‘It has been 12 years since Ra.One was released. As soon as the film was released, people started calling it a flop. Although it didn’t make any difference to me, but one day I heard Shahrukh himself sitting on TV calling it a flop. I was heartbroken.
I thought to myself, ‘How can Shahrukh say this?’ Even though the film did not perform as per expectations, it still did well. If we look at Ra.One in today’s time, it was not a flop at all.
Ra.One was made for 150 crores, its VFX is still discussed today
Shahrukh Khan starrer Ra.One was released in 2011. Even though this film flopped at the box office. But its VFX is still discussed today. After watching Adipurush and Brahmastra, a debate broke out on social media that the VFX of Ra.One, released a decade ago, was much better than these.
This film was made by Shahrukh Khan’s production company Red Chillies. The total budget of the film was approximately Rs 150 crores. However, the worldwide collection of the film could reach only Rs 200 crores.
