A seven-year-old girl was killed, while seven people sustained injuries after a bus carrying them from Mata Vaishno Devi temple in Katra fell into a gorge on Friday morning.
The bus, which was returning to Delhi, was carrying a total of eight passengers. According to police, the accident happened around 5:00 am in the Nomai area after the vehicle lost its balance and turned turtle before falling into a gorge, reported India Today.
The Katra police carried out the rescue operation with the help of locals and those injured were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital.
A similar incident was reported in May when a person was killed and over 12 were injured when the bus in which they were travelling from Katra to Jammu met with an accident. It took place in the Mouri area of Katra in the Reasi district of Jammu.
The bus was carrying pilgrims from Rajasthan who were heading back after paying obeisance at the holy cave.
