The Madhya Pradesh police arrested two tantriks (occultists) for allegedly killing a 22-year-old man in Narsinghpur on the pretext of helping him earn more money. The mutilated body of the victim, Ankit Kaurav, was found in a field on November 4.
The tantriks, identified as Surendra Kachi (40) and Rammu Kachi (45), planned the victim’s ‘narbali’ (human sacrifice) after he approached them with a desire to get more money, according to a report by India Today.
As per the report, the victim met both occultists four months back as well, when he had fallen sick.
Kaurav had consulted doctors but medicines were not working. He got better after the occultists helped him, police said, according to the India Today report.
This experience the victim to trust the accused. Around a fortnight back, the victim’s family faced financial troubles following which Kaurav again approached the duo.
The accused agreed to help him and managed to convince him to chop off his middle finger of his right hand.
The occultists then took Kaurav to Tekapar village, where they planned his ‘narbali’.
The accused gave Kaurav sleeping pills and later killed. His body was found with cuts from a sharp object on his head and neck.
The police tracked down the accused as during investigation it was found that on the night of the incident, the victim was seen riding on a bike with them.
Police arrested the dua and produced them before a court, that sent them to jail. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
