As soon as the festival of Diwali arrives, we all start feeling an atmosphere full of happiness. On this occasion, popular TV actress Sumbul Tauqeer Khan has shared some of her special experiences related to Diwali with her fans. During a special conversation with Dainik Bhaskar, ‘Kavya’ fame Sumbul also shared special outfits and makeup tips for her fans for Diwali. Some highlights of the conversation:
Whatever you wear, pay attention to your comfort.
Personally, comfort is very important for me. I believe that whatever you wear, if you feel comfortable in it then only confidence will be visible on your face. Sometimes this happens with me too where I wore a dress which looked very beautiful but I was feeling so uncomfortable which was reflected on my face.
Even if I wanted to, I was not able to bring confidence. I would tell my fans that whatever they wear, just pay attention to their comfort.
Will I wear Anarkali dress or lehenga this Diwali?
Well, I like simple clothes very much but meanwhile Anarkali dress is my favourite. Recently someone gifted me an Anarkali dress which is very beautiful. Along with this there is also a lehenga. This Diwali, I will definitely wear one of these two outfits.
Use liquid foundation and blush on
I usually like to apply liquid foundation because it is very smooth and looks natural. Stick foundation creates patches on your face which do not look good at all. Along with this, you should use liquid blush on instead of powder. Apply it lightly on your nose also, this will make you look even more cute.
Well, I like wearing eyelashes more than eyeliner. If you are doing so light makeup then apply red lipstick at the end. In fact, with this small makeup tip you will look very beautiful on the occasion of Diwali.
In childhood, my favorite soft toy – teddy bear – was burnt by firecrackers.
Diwali has always been special for me. Everyone celebrates this festival in their own way and we also celebrate it in our own way. The best thing about this festival is that I get a chance to spend time with my family. That’s why Diwali is always special for me. I was very fond of bursting crackers in my childhood. There is one memory related to firecrackers that comes to my mind every Diwali.
Actually, I had burnt a small pomegranate without realizing that my favorite soft toy – a teddy bear – was kept nearby. The next day, I saw that all the sparks from the pomegranate had fallen on it. I cried a lot after seeing my favorite toy burnt. This story of childhood will always be remembered.
Used to steal lamps from outside other people’s houses
Well, there are many good memories too. Especially from my hometown Katni, Madhya Pradesh. In my childhood, when everyone’s Diwali was over, I and my cousins used to steal whoever’s lamp we saw burning outside their house and bring it to our home. Now why did we do this, I still don’t have the answer (laughs). I miss all these small things a lot.
Now instead of bursting crackers, I like to spend time with my family.
There is nothing like childhood Diwali. Anyway, crackers should not be burnt keeping in mind the pollution and the helpless animals. Now we celebrate Diwali in a simple way. Traditions like cleaning the house, making rangoli, lighting lamps etc. are followed.
Instead of bursting crackers, we like to spend time with family, whether it is watching a movie together or going out for dinner.
Soan Papdi my favorite sweet
I love Soan Papdi. I don’t know why people make fun of this sweet so much, it is my favorite sweet.
