World Cup 2023 points table final standings; India finish top, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand, England, Afghanistan and Bangladesh qualify for Champions Trophy 2025.
With the group stage of the ODI World Cup 2023 coming to a close on Sunday, the league stage is done and dusted, and hosts India have topped the World Cup points table with 9 wins from as many games.
With a 100 percent win record, India finished top of the pile without losing a single game in the group stage as they secured a semifinal tie with New Zealand who finished fourth.
The Kiwis started bright but lost momentum mid-way through the tournament and thus they finished with 10 points which was enough for them to make the knockouts, with Pakistan losing their final group game to England. South Africa finished second behind India with 14 points on the board. The Proteas finished level with Australia on 14 points however they finished higher thanks to their higher Net Run Rate.

South Africa finished second thanks to their NRR of +1.261, while Australia finished third with +0.841 NRR. Kane Williamson and Co. won five matches and thus they finished fourth.
Babar Azam and Co. finished finished fifth, with just 8 points although their Net Run Rate of -0.199 helped them finish ahead of the likes of Afghanistan and England.
Pakistan started their tournament well with two wins but list four games in a row and thus their hopes of reaching the semifinal were crushed once New Zealand won over Sri Lanka by five wickets.
Afghanistan finished in sixth place with four wins, their NRR of -0.336 they had won just 1 game before the 2023 World Cup, but their four wins in the tournament helped them secure their place in the Champions Trophy.

Defending champions England had a horror run in the tournament, they had won just one game and lost six games in a row, however, Jos Buttler’s men rallied in the final games to secure two wins back to back and thus it helped them finish in seventh place.
The final Champions Trophy berth went to Bangladesh, Shakib Al Hasan’s men also had a forgetful campaign, they could win just two matches and reached four points but they finished eighth thanks to their NRR of -1.087.
Sri Lanka also finished in ninth place, they finished with two wins but missed out on a Champions Trophy berth due to their inferior NRR of -1.419, and similarly, the Netherlands also won two historic games, but their NRR of -1.825 was the worst among all teams, but it was only enough for a tenth place finish.
