The woman, aged 38, passed away on November 12. She left a last note where she acknowledged feeling deeply loved.

A 38-year-old woman from New York passed away on November 12 from stage four ovarian cancer. Before her death, Casey McIntyre composed a poignant farewell note on social media. Acknowledging the depth of love surrounding her, she shared the emotional message along with a series of pictures featuring cherished moments with her loved ones. Although penned by Casey, the note was later shared by her husband, Andrew.

The heartbreaking message read, “Note to my friends: if you’re reading this it means I have passed away. I’m so sorry, it’s horseshit and we both know it. The cause was a recurrence of my previously diagnosed stage four ovarian cancer. I loved each and every one of you with my whole heart and I promise you, I knew how deeply I was loved. The five months in home hospice that I got to spend with my family and friends in Virginia, Rhode Island, and New York were magical.”

Casey McIntyre, battling stage four ovarian cancer, couldn’t complete her farewell post before her passing. Her husband, Andrew, added an ‘editor’s note’ paying a heartfelt tribute to his wife and expressing the sorrow that she didn’t have the chance to bid her final goodbye.

Andrew mentioned that Casey wanted to finish the entire note with a list of things that brought her comfort and joy during her lifetime, but unfortunately, he would never be able to see it now. However, Andrew noted, “I imagine it would’ve included our daughter Grace, whales, ice cream, her beloved friends, being at the beach, her niece and nephews she incorrigibly doted on, reading 10 books on a weeklong vacation, her beloved parents and sister and their amazing extended family, swimming, a perfect roast beef sandwich, and me, her sweet sweet honey.”

Expressing his grief, Andrew shared, “Oh Casey!!!! I don’t know how we will do it without you but we will.” He went on to announce a memorial service in her honour, scheduled for 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 2nd at the Prospect Park Boathouse. Andrew revealed a poignant plan to celebrate Casey’s life by anonymously purchasing and forgiving medical debt, with the hope of concluding the tribute with a bonfire if permitted. Attendees are encouraged to wear attire that both conveys deep sorrow for the loss and celebrated the joy of having known Casey.

Andrew further urged all those who are acquainted with Casey to share the precious moments they spent with her.
