Blue-ringed octopus looks pretty harmless and cute, thanks to its small body and enthralling pattern but this small-sized, deadly octopus is an incredible hunter.

There are thousands of creatures around us, on land and underwater, who surprise us every single time with their beauty and sometimes their mind-boggling abilities. On the list of such incredible creatures, the blue-ringed octopus is one that many are unaware of. This creature looks pretty harmless and cute, thanks to its small body and enthralling pattern. This small-sized, deadly octopus is an incredible hunter who can camouflage to its surroundings and even disguise themselves in different shapes.

Depicting something similar, a video is recently going viral that shows the astonishing ability of a blue-ringed octopus to disguise as a crab. The clip opens to show an incredible moment where an octopus cleverly disguises the body in a way that makes her look like a crab at first glance. The creature did this in an attempt to trick and launch an attack on the prey. Then, the cephalopod does something that has never been seen before. The Octopus uses two of the tentacles to ‘walk’ and attack the prey. Even though an octopus misses the prey, watching the creature’s inventiveness while hunting is a breathtaking sight. A video of the incident was filmed on camera that left internet users in awe.

The video has been shared by an Instagram user Ahmad Abdella, a man who rescues and keeps pet octopuses. The caption reads, “I couldn’t believe that she did this! Only a handful of octopus species have been seen walking like this in the wild. It’s called bipedal locomotion and is rare to see in captivity.”

The video which was shared just two days ago has already accumulated more than 40.6K likes so far. Social media users were astounded and expressed a variety of opinions in response to this incredible yet horrifying visual of camouflage and hunting prey.
