Prasoon Joshi Launches Dr Hema Joshi’s Book Do Palkon Ki Chaav Mein – News18

Dr Hema Joshi is a former professor of English literature at Allahabad University.

In Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj, a book launch took place on Thursday. A book titled Do Palkon ki Chaav Mein, written by Dr Hema Joshi, former professor of English literature at Allahabad University was released. The event was graced by well-known poet and Film Sensor Board Chairman, Prasoon Joshi launched the book.

Reportedly, the book is based on the fictional account of her own life and also narrates her love for two Indian cities- Almora, where she was born and Prayagraj, where she spent her years later. The book is set against the backdrop of a love story but focuses on the author’s internal struggle.

At the event, Prasoon Joshi said that when one reads Dr Hema Joshi’s book, they will “get connected with its characters”. He added that the book should have been published earlier. Praising the author, he further said that the writing is cooked on a slow flame and there is no rawness in it. He added that after reading four to five pages of this book, one will realise that the writing is quite professional. According to him, Dr Joshi’s writings have the “clarity” and “transparency of a mountain”.

Dr Hema Joshi got the inspiration to write the book from within herself. While speaking at the event, she revealed that it took her 10 years to write Do Palkon ki Chaav Mein. She also discussed what it was like to shift from Almora, Uttarakhand to Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.

Processor LR Sharma shared some kind words regarding the author. She said that Dr Joshi has been a very kind woman and was connected with the children in her class. She further called her a down-to-earth person. Her other colleagues also shared their opinions about Dr Joshi and the book.

The book launch event was also attended by Prayagraj Commissioner, Vijay Vishwas Pant and Dr Hema Joshi’s elder sister Professor Nalini Pant.
