I consider myself lucky, I like the name Heer very much

I was very, very happy because I am getting a chance to play the character of Heer. Love story will be shown in our show but personally I like the name Heer very much. When the makers told me the story of this show, I became very excited. I consider myself lucky that the makers chose me for this.

Language experts were present on the set

Our show is based around Punjab background. My co-star Avinesh Rekhi helped me a lot in improving my language. There were some language experts also present on our set who helped me. Now it has been almost a month since the shooting started, so now I speak Punjabi naturally.

Learned Hindi by watching serials like ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’, ‘Kasam Se’

Yes, I am an NRI, brought up in New Zealand and completed my education in Australia. Because of this, my first language has been English. Believe me, I have learned Hindi only by watching serials like ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’, ‘Kasam Se’. Also my mother is Maharashtrian and father Gujarati. Both speak different languages. The good thing is that I can understand all these languages and also speak a little bit.

I love desi food very much

I love Punjabi food. I am given sarson ka saag, dal makhani and makki roti, parathas are my favorite food. Whenever I get a chance, I enjoy these dishes a lot.
