Tinder Brings New Gen Z-Focused Features For More ‘Authentic’ Connections – News18
Tinder wants its young users to have deeper, more authentic connections.
Tinder is bringing new updates designed with Gen Z in mind, with more focus on exhibiting value-based qualities over traditional photos.
The popular dating app Tinder is rolling out new features to help the new generation of daters connect. The features, which are geared toward Generation Z, go beyond just photos and help users showcase their unique qualities and values.
Here are the new set of features rolling for Tinder users:
Profile Prompts: This feature allows users to select prompts, eliminating the need to start a fresh conversation without anything concrete to talk about initially. This makes it easy for users to break the ice, and responding to prompts allows for more engaging conversations from the get-go.
Profile Quiz: This feature enables users to get to know the other person better by checking compatibility through answering a quiz. Users can share their quiz responses on their profile to showcase their interests and more.
Basic Info Tags: These tags make it easy for potential matches to know the basics about oneself, whether it’s your zodiac sign or if you drink and have pets.
In addition to these features, Tinder is also introducing enhanced reporting, allowing users to report specific profile sections. There’s a new “rizz-first” redesign of the app, which brings new UI updates, new animations, and the reworked ‘It’s a Match!’ page, and even a new dark mode to make it easy to Tinder during late nights, and use the Tinder app more discreetly.
With that said, Tinder notes that these features match the evolving need of young daters, as “they care about authentic connections formed through shared interests and common causes and have no time for the ‘game-playing’ of previous generations.” They want to portray their true authentic selves and expect the same in return,” it added.
