Dhruva Natchathiram Chapter 1 Faces Yet Another Delay Amid Financial Struggles – News18
Dhruva Natchathiram was to be released on November 24.
Financial constraints have been the biggest hurdle in the delay of the film’s release.
In a rollercoaster of developments, the much-anticipated release of Dhruva Natchathiram Chapter 1: Yuddha Kaandam faced yet another setback as director Gautham Vasudev Menon announced a delayed release. Originally scheduled for November 24 after a prolonged wait, the director took to Twitter to express his regret, citing the need for a “day or two more” to ensure a seamless experience for the audience.
Financial constraints are reported to be a major hurdle, with Menon allegedly owing creditors a substantial amount ranging from Rs 80-120 crore. Talks with lenders reportedly transpired post-release to resolve outstanding payments. However, creditors remained steadfast in their demand, asserting that the film should not hit the screens until their dues were settled. The production companies associated with “Dhruva Natchathiram” assured theatre owners of the resolution, yet concerns loom over the film’s financial entanglements.
Amid the financial turbulence, a ray of encouragement emerged from filmmaker N Linguswamy, who had the privilege of watching the final cut of the movie. Linguswamy took to Twitter, lauding Dhruva Natchathiram and singling out actor Vinayakan’s exceptional performance as the film’s standout aspect. He described the final cut as “fantastic,” praising the film’s overall quality and stunning visuals. Linguswamy also commended Vikram’s portrayal, terming him “cool,” and highlighted Vinayakan as the scene-stealer, acknowledging the brilliance of the entire cast.
This praise from a respected filmmaker like Linguswamy offers a contrasting narrative to the financial challenges faced by Dhruva Natchathiram. Linguswamy’s endorsement may provide a glimmer of hope for the film’s makers amid the uncertainties, showcasing the movie’s potential despite its production hurdles.
Initially, actor Suriya was slated to essay the titular role in the film. He, however, opted out of the film, citing a lack of a proper script. In an interview, Gautham Vasudev Menon said that Suriya questioned the authenticity of the premise. Suriya stated that it needed to be more realistic.
