Animal releases on December 1 in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.

Animal also features Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, Triptii Dimri and others.

Ranbir Kapoor’s much-anticipated film Animal is all set to release on the big screens on December 1. Sandeep Reddy Vanga has written and directed the movie. T-Series unveiled the official trailer of the film as well on November 23. It struck a chord with the audience and is currently trending at number 1 with over 50 million views. Many social media users and celebrities appreciated the trailer including Prabhas.

Prabhas applauded the trailer of Animal in an Instagram story and wrote, “What a trailer, what a feel, extraordinary…Mental…Congratulations & Can’t wait for #Animal.”

Animal stars an ensemble cast of Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, Triptii Dimri and others. The film will be released on the big screens in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. Bhadrakali Pictures, Cars on Film and Cine1 Studios have bankrolled Animal. Take a look at its trailer here:

Central Board of Film Certification has granted Animal A certificate. Animal has courted criticism as well after the makers earlier unveiled its teaser. Many social media users have criticised the misogynistic themes showcased in the teaser. One of the glimpses in the teaser shows Arjun (Ranbir) and Geetanjali (Rashmika), walking and having a conversation. While talking, Geetanjali says, “Thought about kids? Arjun says, “Yes…I want to be a father.” At this point, Geetanjali says, “You won’t be like your father right?” This reply infuriates Arjun to such an extent that he loses his cool and even points his finger at Geetanjali. He then says,” “My father is the best father in the world. Don’t ever go there”. He then silences her when she tries to clear the misunderstanding.

This is not the first time Sandeep Reddy Vanga has courted controversy for directing films based on misogynistic undertones. His movies Arjun Reddy and Kabir Singh have catered to the male audience with the portrayal of hypermasculine characters on the big screen. Vanga’s fans are also known to defend these films which show violence and abuse against women. Many social media users have criticised Animal’s teaser and trailer for showing Rashmika’s character as a meek and submissive woman.
