When Sanjay Dutt was being transferred from Arthur Road Jail to Yerwada Jail in Pune, he was very nervous. Not only this, he was trembling with fear and was drenched in sweat. Actually, the news of Sanjay Dutt’s jail transfer had spread in the media. A large number of people and media had gathered outside the jail to see him. Because of this crowd, Sanjay Dutt was afraid that he might encounter someone in the crowd. This has been disclosed by former IPS officer Meeran Chadha Borwankar.

Former IPS officer shares stories of Sanjay’s jail
Former IPS officer Meeran Chadha Borwankar has launched a book titled Madam Commissioner: The Extraordinary Life of an Indian Police Chief. In this book, he has revealed some unheard stories of Sanjay Dutt’s jail.

In connection with this book, he has said in an interview given to Cyrus Says – Dutt was afraid that he would be killed in an encounter during the transfer. He was so scared that he started sweating. He said that he had fever and would not be able to go to another jail.

Meanwhile, the news of his exit from Arthur Road Jail got leaked and a huge crowd started gathering outside the jail gate.

Due to the crowd we decided to postpone this transfer. Then Dutt was asked not to react too much on these things. It has also been explained to them that their apprehensions about the encounter are wrong. After some time, we were successful in taking him from Arthur Road Jail to Yerwada Jail in Pune.

Dutt did not get special treatment in jail
Meeran Chadha further said- In those days, these things were in the news that Dutt was being given special treatment in jail. But it was not so. He generally did well in prison because his parole and release from prison depended on his behavior. If he had not behaved well, we would not have allowed him leave or parole. Not only this, he also used to work in jail.

In the same interview, Meeran Chaddha Borvankar answered the question whether Sanjay Dutt was getting a home inside the jail. On this he said that whenever big leaders, actors and actresses come inside the jail, they feel that they are VIPs. When Dutt was in Arthur Road Jail, he was under trial. For this reason, he got permission to eat home food there. Then when his crime was proved and he was shifted to Yerwada jail, changes were made in this permission after the magistrate’s decision.
