Ziona Chana, known for having the world’s largest family, lived in a sizable residence comprising a hundred rooms. Regrettably, Chana passed away in 2021.
During his lifetime, Ziona had a living arrangement where all his wives and children resided together. The residence was located in Mizoram. Ziona left behind a family of 181 members. They perform daily tasks together, share communal meals prepared in a collective kitchen, and are dedicated to upholding Ziona’s vision and aspirations.
The family spends a lot of money on food and drinks. Some of Ziona’s sons work to help with finances, but the family, living in a 100-room house, still has significant expenses. The women take care of household and farm tasks, managing the kitchen and helping with farming. They also raise chickens for meat. Many tourists are interested in the family’s unique lifestyle and come to visit their big house.
Ziona Chana received medical treatment at his residence in Baktawng village for three days. But his health deteriorated and he was transferred to the hospital. Hospital Director Dr. Lalrintluanga Zahau informed PTI that, despite medical efforts, doctors declared him dead.
Ziona got married for the first time at the age of 17 to a girl three years older than him. In 2004, he married his last wife. Ziona built a four-storey house called Chhuan Thar Run (New Generation Home) in his village. This house became the place where all his wives, sons and their families lived together.
