Today as a woman and an actress, I am grateful to my family, friends and well-wishers, who are my protection and support system. If this had happened to me when I was in school or college, I really can’t imagine how I would have been able to get myself out of this situation. We as a society should immediately raise our voice against this tampering with our identity, before more people become its victims.

What is deepfake?
Deepfake is, in a way, a fake video, although in this the face, voice or expression is changed so minutely using AI tools that it is difficult to distinguish between real and fake. The cases of deepfake videos have increased with the advent of AI (Artificial Intelligence) tools, because videos can be easily edited through these tools.
Firstly, deepfake involves face morphing, through which the face of another person is added to the body of one person. Along with changing the face, a person’s clothes, expression and voice can also be tampered with.
This type of technology is mostly used in porn sites. A person’s photographs are converted into nude photos and uploaded to these sites. With the advent of deepfakes, the threat of identity has increased significantly.
