Two-wheelers, especially bikes have, for the longest time, been associated with men. So, when two women in saree were seen riding a Royal Enfield Bullet on the roads with a huge grin on their faces, the internet was in awe. The video has now gone viral.

The woman riding the pillion is dressed in a pink and blue saree and has her head covered in a ‘ghunghat’. The woman in the front, in an orange saree, too has her head covered.

The viral video was probably recorded by a passerby or a relative as it captured them having fun. The clip was posted on Instagram by the account Sona Omi and the song in the background is Gujjar Ki Hod by Akash Bhamla. The intext read, “Bhadana” indicating the village in Sonipat district of Haryana where this video might have been recorded. The video has garnered much attention on social media and received 1.3 million views.

The comments section has been filled with hearts and flower emojis and people were in absolute awe of the women. A user wrote, “Aap bohot acha chalati hai bullet (You drive really well).” Another user commented, “Hum ladies kisi se kam nahi (We, women are not less than anyone).” Another comment read, “Desh ki aurat isi tarah hi khoob tarakki kare (I hope the women of this country become successful).” A few also pointed out that had she worn a helmet as well, then it would have been great.

Previously, a 26-year-old woman named Nupur Patel was arrested in Mumbai after she was spotted riding her motorcycle on the Bandra-Worli Sea Link without a helmet. The Sea Link does not allow two-wheelers to ply. However, when the woman was stopped by the police, she turned hostile and abusive as she pushed a constable and even made an attempt to point a pistol-shaped lighter at the cops.
