UP Transport Dept Invites Applications To Fill 40 Driver Posts In Basti – News18

The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation has recently announced recruitment for 40 driver positions. The recruitment drive will take place under the auspices of the Transport Department at the Regional Transport Office in Basti on December 6, 2023, as part of a job fair. The fair will commence at 10:30 AM on the office campus and interested candidates can participate.

For those aspiring to become drivers in the Uttar Pradesh Transport Department, the department has specified certain educational and physical criteria to get the job of a driver. Candidates must have at least an 8th-grade pass mark sheet. Additionally, their height should not be less than 5 feet 3 inches, and they must possess a heavy license along with two years of experience in driving heavy vehicles. Candidates’ age should be between 23 and 50 years.

Selected contractual driver salary will consist of an incentive amount of Rs 1.89 per kilometre, along with an additional Rs 3,000 for operating the vehicle for more than 5,000 kilometres and an extra Rs 3,000 for 22 days of bus operation, provided by the department.

Drivers will also receive additional incentives based on higher income, along with a night allowance. District Transport Officer Avadhendra Pratap Verma mentioned that the mentioned job fair will be held at the Transport Office on December 6 at 10:30 a.m., where officials from the transport department will also be present.

Earlier, the Tamil Nadu transport department had also invited applications to fill 685 vacancies for the driver and conductor jobs in numerous state transport corporations. Thereafter, the government started receiving applications from eligible candidates through its official portal at https://www.arasubus.tn.gov.in/ which had been created exclusively for the recruitment drive for transport jobs. The last date to apply for the positions was September 18 and by now the recruitment is expected to be completed.
