Apple Watch Detected Pregnant Woman's High Heart Rate, And Then This Happened.. – News18

Apple Watch has been a life saver on many occasions in the past as well.

Veronica Williams, a woman based out of Kentucky has shared how her Apple Watch saved her life when she was pregnant, after it detected abnormally high heart rate.

Apple Watch has become a quintessential piece of equipment to track health, but it is equally useful in preventing fatalities and allowing users to keep a tab on things like heart rate.

In fact, time and again, victims have come forward to tell the world about how they faced a health scare, but ultimately, their Apple Watch came to the rescue.

This time, a woman based out of Kentucky has shared how her Apple Watch saved her and her baby’s life.

As per a report by Fox19 via 9to5Mac, Veronica Williams, the woman here, said that she was pregnant, and her Apple Watch saved her life after she received a high heart rate notification. This prompted her to contact her doctor and ask for help.

Furthermore, she notes that multiple alerts had sounded on her Apple Watch about the same, and meanwhile, she was starting to feel out of breath. That was when she rushed to the emergency room.

“Next thing I knew, they came in saying, ‘We need to do an emergency c-section. Is that okay?’ And I was wheeled out of my room and woke up at the University of Cincinnati,” she said.

Later, the doctor ended up safely delivering her baby, and while she was still struggling, she eventually stabilized.

The report adds that Williams’ doctors found that she was suffering from a rare form of Myocarditis, in which her immune system was attacking her own heart. “Essentially what happened is her immune system got fooled into attacking her own heart as something that was external,” her doctor said.

Notably, this is not the first instance of an Apple Watch feature helping a wearer in reaching emergency services during a health scare or contacting authorities when stranded. Earlier this year, a woman’s Apple Watch automatically dialed 911 when it detected no movement from her after she collapsed due to a ruptured aorta.
