The India U-19 cricket team kicked off their Asia Cup 2023 campaign on a winning note but lost their second match against arch-rivals Pakistan. Having played against Afghanistan, the Indian cricket team earned a seven-wicket victory in that game. India’s Arshin Kulkarni played a fine knock of an unbeaten 70 to guide his side to a resounding win in the tournament opener. Earlier, Raj Limbani and Arshin Kulkarni had scalped three wickets each to restrict the Afghans to 173.

India’s momentum was halted in their next match by Pakistan. Chasing a total of 260, Pakistan scored the winning runs with 18 balls to spare. India will now aim to return to winning ways when they take the field against Nepal at the U-19 Asia Cup on Tuesday, December 12. The U-19 Asia Cup fixture between India and Nepal is scheduled to be played at the ICC Academy Ground No 2 in Dubai.

Nepal, on the other hand, have been winless in their first two matches of the competition. Nepal are currently languishing at the bottom of the Group A points table. In their last match, Nepal had to concede a 73-run defeat at the hands of Afghanistan.
