The film 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' is still one of the best films of Bollywood. In the film, Kajol played the role of Anjali and Rani Mukherjee played the role of Tina. But initially Kajol wanted to play the role of Tina. There was an argument between him and the film's director Karan Johar for this role. Even after this, Karan stuck to his decision and gave the role of Tina to Rani. Kajol herself has revealed this in a recent interview.
Kajol fought with Karan for 45 minutes for the role of Tina
During the round table of Netflix, Kajol said- I fought in 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai'. I had a fight with Karan Johar. I wanted to play the role of Tina in the film and Karan said – No, you have to play the role of Anjali. On this I said – But I want to play the role of Tina only. You don't know what I can do in the role of Tina. Hearing this, Karan silenced me. I fought with Karan for 45 minutes but he refused again and again.
Siddharth Malhotra was also present in this round table, who praised the film and said that he was very happy with the film.
What was the story of the film?
In the film, Kajol was seen in the role of Anjali, who likes her best friend Rahul (Shahrukh Khan). Meanwhile, Rahul falls in love with Tina (Rani Mukherjee), a new girl in the college. At last he marries Tina. Saddened by this, Anjali leaves the college and goes back to her home. Later, after Tina's death, Rahul marries Anjali.
Earlier the role of Tina was offered to Twinkle Khanna.
In the first film, the character of Tina i.e. Rani Mukherjee was written keeping Twinkle Khanna in mind. But he refused to do the film. After this, this role was offered to many actresses and finally Rani Mukherjee became the finalist for this role.
During the shooting of the film, Rani Mukherjee was only 19 years old. Due to Rani's voice being heavy, Karan wanted her voice to be dubbed but it did not happen. Rani herself spoke the dialogues in the film.
