Madeline underscores that her videos were made exclusively for comedic purposes.

Madeline Salazar, 29, has caught attention by using AI to add a fake boyfriend to her photos. She does this to win every breakup and make ex-partners jealous. Her video, digitally placing an imaginary man in a solo image on public transport, has raised concerns about the ethical implications of using AI to make others envious.

During a photo editing session, a TV producer used Adobe Photoshop software and entered the term ‘man holding hand leading’. This presents the images of the AI Boyfriend in the foreground. After evaluating various AI-generated options, she selected the most convincing one for the final edit. The final image presents a scenario where a man’s hand is placed on her knee, generating the illusion of a couple seated in a coffee shop.

The Manhattan resident spent roughly two and a half hours on the edit. She shared about getting numerous requests from people who want similar edits to retaliate against their partners. Some users have voiced criticism, labelling them as sad and toxic.

Madeline has made it clear that she does not want to get involved in someone else personal life with a 10ft pole. Nevertheless, she remains willing to offer tutorials to help individuals create their edits. Madeline shared, “Every day, I get comments and messages from people asking if I can edit things for them to make their boyfriend jealous or because their husband made them angry.”

Madeline mentions that her videos were made exclusively for comedic purposes. She said not everyone can grasp her sense of humour. Some perceive the content as pathetic and promoting a toxic narrative, while only some understand the intended joke.

Madeline highlights how challenging it is to recreate her work, mentioning, “It took about two and a half hours to make the three video clips. Dealing with anything related to people is quite tough.” She understands the possible impact on personal lives, suggesting caution when getting DMs and highlighting the risk of making unwise decisions.

“People who want to be manipulative are doing it on their own; they don’t need my help. They’ll find ways to make their point without me. I share step-by-step guides on how I create these edits on my YouTube, so if someone wants to make their ex jealous, they can watch those.”

Some found her video to be hilarious and expressed a desire to learn Photoshop skills. Still, not everyone was impressed. One user wrote, “Wow, this is scary. Technology is too much.” Another added, “The level of loneliness in this video is striking.”
