Audi unveils India’s fastest EV charger in Mumbai, charging Q8 55 e-tron in 26 mins. Green-powered ‘e-tron hub’ redefines convenience for EV owners.

Luxury carmaker Audi has just unveiled India’s premier ultra-fast charging station in the bustling Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) of Mumbai.

In collaboration with ChargeZone, this cutting-edge charging hub delivers a whopping 450kW of total capacity, ensuring an impressive 360kW power boost to electric vehicles.

Audi’s latest offering, the Q8 55 e-tron, equipped with a massive 114 kWh battery (the largest in any Indian passenger vehicle), can charge from 20 percent to 80 percent in a record-breaking 26 minutes. In line with Audi’s sustainability commitment, the ‘e-tron hub’ is fueled entirely by green energy, featuring a solar roof that supports peripheral electrical needs, including lighting.

Mr. Balbir Singh Dhillon, Head of Audi India said, “The inauguration of India’s first, ultra-fast charging station by Audi India is a significant milestone in our ongoing efforts to develop a comprehensive electric vehicle ecosystem for our valued customers. The ultra-fast charging ‘e-tron hub’ is located in the heart of Mumbai – Bandra Kurla Complex; which is accessible to a large number of electric vehicle owners. The rapid charging infrastructure is pivotal in alleviating concerns about range limitations, ensuring a seamless experience and considerably less charging time. We are not only establishing new benchmarks within the industry but also reinforcing our dedication to the future of sustainable mobility.”

The ultra-fast charging station prioritizes a hassle-free experience for Audi e-tron owners, featuring high-powered guns for rapid charging. Additionally, e-tron owners can enjoy premium coffee vouchers and relax in a dedicated lounge during the charging process. The hub is staffed with trained personnel for any assistance, and Audi e-tron owners can easily access information through the ‘myAudi Connect’ App.

Earlier this year, Audi India introduced the ‘Charge my Audi’ feature on the myAudiConnect app, a one-stop solution providing Audi e-tron customers access to multiple electric vehicle charging partners.

This industry-first initiative, powered by Numocity Technologies eMSP roaming solution, offers complimentary charging across the network (except on Zeon charging) until March 2024.

With 140+ chargers installed across 73 cities in India, including all Audi India dealerships and select SAVWIPL Group brand dealerships, Audi India boasts the widest luxury EV portfolio in the country.

The lineup includes six electric cars: Audi Q8 50 e-tron, Audi Q8 55 e-tron, Audi Q8 Sportback 50 e-tron, Audi Q8 Sportback 55 e-tron, Audi e-tron GT, and Audi RS e-tron GT.
