After watching Salaar, the name whose name is talked about the most after Prabhas is Prithviraj Sukumaran. In the film, she played the role of Prabhas's friend Vardha. Prithviraj told Dainik Bhaskar that after watching the film, he is getting hundreds of calls and messages.
Prithviraj also talked about the chemistry between himself and Prabhas. Prithviraj said that Prabhas does not mix with anyone quickly, but he had developed a deep friendship with him within five minutes. Prithviraj had not thought of becoming an actor. He studied in Australia. When I came home for holidays, I was offered a film. The film became such a big hit that he gave up the idea of going to Australia again.
Calls are coming from people from different industries
Prithviraj Sukumaran said- Of all the films I have worked in till now, Salaar is the biggest. The atmosphere created around this film is amazing. I am getting many calls. People from different industries are sending messages to me.
The film is getting good response in all five languages. Prashant Neel has done amazing writing. He has written the roles of both of us (Prabhas and Prithviraj) in such a way that everyone gets equal screen time.
Prithviraj's character's name in the film is Wardha.
Prabhas doesn't mix with anyone, he became friends with me in five minutes.
Talking about Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran said- Prabhas is a person who does not mix with anyone easily. My first meeting with him was on the sets of Salaar. Within five minutes we became good friends. It felt as if we had known each other for so long. The chemistry that developed between us was clearly visible on screen as well. Prabhas is one of the biggest stars of the country. Despite this, he made everyone around him feel comfortable.
Deva i.e. Prabhas and Vardha i.e. Sukumaran remain friends in the film, but then due to misunderstandings, enmity develops between them.
Who wouldn't want to work with Prashant Neel?
How did Prashant connect with Neel and Salar? In response, Prithviraj Sukumar said- I had made a film, Lucifer. After watching this film, the owner of Homble Films talked to me. He asked me to join a project of Prashant Neel. Then the story of the film was narrated to me. I was quite impressed listening to the narration. On top of that, it was Prashant Neel's film, who wouldn't want to do his film.
Apart from all this, I already had a very good relationship with Homble Films. KGF-2 was distributed in Kerala by my company. Thinking all this, I said yes to the film.
Prithviraj was interested in studies, became an actor by chance
Prithviraj Sukumaran does not want to become an actor. He was more interested in studies. He became an actor by chance. There is an interesting story behind this also. Prithviraj said- I was doing graduation from a university in Australia. I came home when I had leave. Everyone in my house except me was from the acting field. When I came home during holidays, I was asked to do a film.
The director said that as long as you have holidays, work in this film and then return. This is how I worked in my first film. Coincidentally this film became a huge hit. After this I left my life behind and became a full time actor.
Prithviraj Sukumaran is originally a Malayalam film actor, but he has also worked in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
Everyone in the family is an actor, but there was no film talk at home.
Prithviraj Sukumaran comes from a film family, yet the atmosphere in his house was never filmy. Explaining the reason, Prithviraj says- Before becoming an actor, my father was also an English teacher. He also had knowledge of law. The atmosphere in our house was very educational. We used to talk very little about films. My brother and I did not even go to the sets. Father never used to take us there.
Prithviraj Sukumaran's father 'Sukumaran' was also a big actor in the Malayalam industry. He died on 16 June 1997 at the age of just 49.
Prithviraj will work with Akshay Kumar in Bade Miyan-Chhote Miyan
Prithviraj Sukumaran also worked in the Hindi film Aiyya. He was seen opposite Rani Mukherjee in the film. He will also be seen in Akshay Kumar's action thriller film Bade Miyan-Chhote Miyan. What is Prithviraj's role going to be in this film?
He told- In the film, I am playing a role which any actor would like to do with his eyes closed. Once the film is released, you will feel what a film Ali Abbas Zafar (director of the film) has made.
