Shilpa Shetty's mother never considered any actress as competition in her career. For this reason she remained in the industry for 30 years. These days, Shilpa is in the news for her web series 'Indian Police Force'. The series has been directed by Rohit Shetty.

Recently, during a special conversation with Dainik Bhaskar, the actress shared some interesting things related to her series and professional life. During the conversation, he also credited the paparazzi for his successful career to some extent. Why? Let us know…

What was the most challenging moment associated with 'Indian Police Force'?

Along with 'IPS', I was also shooting for the film 'Sukhi'. Both the projects were very opposite to each other. IPS's Tara is a very powerful, brave and senior police officer, whereas 'Sukhi' was the story of a common woman. It was quite challenging to play two opposite characters at the same time.

At the same time, whenever I have done any action scene, I have done it with the use of stunt double. For the first time in this series I did my own action. Rohit wanted me to look real on screen. We finished most of the action scenes in a single shot. During the shooting, I suffered some serious injuries but it was very satisfying when I saw myself on the screen.

Have you heard that your father and Rohit Shetty's father had worked together at some point?

Yes. Both of our parents knew each other for many years. Actually, my father was very fond of action. He had worked with Rohit's father, MB Shetty in one of the projects. However, my father did not like this industry much and hence he decided to leave it. After that, both our families were completely separated and today after years, Rohit and I are working together.

What kind of ups and downs did you face in the journey of 30 years?

I never did anything to prove myself. I was from a middle class background, so it was very important for me to work in the beginning. As soon as I got work, I did it. At the age of 17 I bought my first car, first house. Actually, at that age I had never thought of making acting my career. This is the reason why there were ups and downs but I kept enjoying this journey.

Today, if I have been able to survive in this industry for so many years, it is because I focused only on my work and not on the work of others. I never considered any actress as my competition. Also, there is no platform on which I have not worked – film, radio, television, OTT and even my own social media app. Overall, earlier working was my need but now it has become my passion.

How do you select films?

It has been almost 30 years since I have been working in this industry, but despite this, whenever I sign a project, I enter the set like a newcomer. See, I have not taken any training in acting, have not been a part of any acting school. Whatever I learned, I learned on the set itself.

Whatever improvement has come in my craft has come from my experiences. Whatever films touch the heart, I become a part of them. The film 'Sukhi' will always be close to my heart.

You are the favorite of the paparazzi, but has it ever happened that you have gone out of hiding after seeing the paparazzi?

I don't come out secretly, instead I tell them not to click me today and they also agree. Look, paparazzi do their job. Whatever position I am in today, the credit for it also goes to him to some extent. These people also take our work to the audience and fans. If these people stop taking interest in us, then it is a matter of fear for the artist.
