Bobby Deol celebrated his 55th birthday last Saturday i.e. 27th January. This birthday was very special for Bobby after the success of Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal. However, apart from this he has many good films in his kitty. The name of his debut film Barsaat is also included in the list of good films.
With this film she set a new trend of fashion and dance. However, from the making of this film to its release, many problems had to be faced. This film was completed in four years.
The film was produced by Dharmendra.
Shekhar Kapur left the job of direction after 27 days of shooting.
Actually, Shekhar Kapur was initially going to direct the film Barsaat, but he left the film after 27 days of shooting. Due to this the shooting of the film had to be stopped. Bobby was very hurt by this. Seeing the condition of his son, his superstar father Dharmendra had to come forward and talk to Shekhar.
Bobby said at Jagran Film Festival, 'I started shooting the film long ago and Shekhar Kapur was the director. We shot for 27 days for the film. Then she got an offer from Hollywood to make Bandit Queen.
On this Shekhar had said, 'I will do Bandit Queen and will come back to make it rain'. But father said that he does not want any delay in this film. He told Shekhar – You do your film, I will find someone else. After this Rajkumar Santoshi directed this film. I also consider myself lucky for this.
Barsaat was the debut film of both Bobby and Twinkle Khanna. Both of them received the Filmfare Best Debut Actors Award for this film released in 1995.
Shooting started again after a year
Upon coming on board, Santoshi made several changes to the script, which caused a lot of trouble to Bobby. He signed the film at the age of 22 and it released when he turned 26. It took a year for shooting to resume after Shekhar Kapur's departure. Then it took 2 more years to make it. Changes were made to the script several times. To adapt to the different getups as per the script, Bobby had to learn a lot of running, playing drums, riding a bike and many new things.
Twinkle Khanna was seen opposite Bobby in the film Barsaat. The film was shot in international locations like London, Manali and Italy.
He fought with a tiger by placing a piece of meat on his neck.
In an interview given to Mashable India last year, Bobby had narrated an interesting anecdote related to the film. He had told that during one shot he was seen fighting with a tiger. The makers shot this scene in Italy with a trained Siberian tiger.
Bobby further said, 'During the scene, the handlers used to place a piece of meat on my neck so that the tiger would jump on me. After this I had to stop the tiger only with my hands. His paws were very heavy and when he got tired, he would put his paws on my shoulders and pull me down.
He had further told, 'Even if a dog bites someone, the person feels pain and in this scene I was fighting with the tiger. That mouth was right near my neck but at that time I was only thinking about the shot.
