Before Ranbir, Ranbir had got Dil Dhadakne Do: Anil had signed the film for Ranbir Kapoor, had promised before debut

Ranbir Kapoor and Anil Kapoor played the role of father and son in the recent blockbuster film Animal, although both of them had worked together 8 years before in the film Dil Dhadakne Do. Ranbir was cast before Ranveer Singh in the film. It was because of Ranbir that Anil agreed to play the role of father, but later Ranbir left that film.

Recently Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol interacted with Netflix India for the OTT premiere of the film Animal. During this, Anil Kapoor told that he was going to do the film Dil Dhadakne Do with Ranbir.

Had decided to work together before Ranbir's debut

Ranbir Kapoor has told in this conversation that when he was about to debut with the film Saawariya, he often used to go to Sonam Kapoor's house for rehearsals. He also used to meet Anil Kapoor at home and both used to talk a lot. In this conversation, Anil had once told Ranbir, I have never played the role of a father, but I will definitely do it for you.

After a few years, both of them got work together in the film Dil Dhadakne Do. Seeing Ranbir being a part of the film, Anil signed the film, but later Ranbir Kapoor left the film. In his place, Ranveer Singh played the lead role in the film. After 8 years, Anil Kapoor got his first opportunity to work with Ranbir Kapoor in the film Animal.
